Therapeutic Riding

Horses are compassionate teachers of basic life skills.  Horseback riding provides a movement that is rhythmically similar to the human gait.

We provide an exciting and challenging activity for those who are unable to participate in other sports activities.

Therapeutic riding has the potential to improve posture, balance, mobility, and function.  Some benefits you may see include:

Overall muscle strength and flexibility
Coordination and balance
Language and communication skills
Increased ability to process information (i.e., cognitive skills)
Self-esteem, self-confidence and social skills.

For more detailed information about therapeutic riding or hippotherapy, visit the web site for the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. (NARHA).
